  • Dr. Jared Louw
    Dr. Jared Louw
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Jared Louw was born in South Africa and immigrated to Canada in 1999. He will happily tell you that he has been a proud Canadian ever since! Jared obtained a bachelor degree in biomedical sciences at the University of Guelph, and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2017. In his spare time, he enjoys catching up on TV shows and movies, spending time with his three cats, studying martial arts, and if weather permits spending time outdoors. His love of animals in all forms is readily apparent, but his main veterinary focus is dogs and cats, with some experience with exotics/pocket pets, wildlife, and poultry.

    Dr. Jacob Keitel
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Jacob graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College with Dr. Jared and started his career in emergency medicine; diagnosing, treating and performing advanced surgical procedures for critically ill animals. Dr. Jacob comes to West Lorne Animal Hospital excited to join our team and expand the services we are able to provide.

  • Denise Jack
    Denise Jack
    Registered Veterinary Technician and Practice Manager

    Denise’s life-long passion for animals and nature has resulted in her working in the veterinary profession since 1989.  She became a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in 1992, and has been working in small animal and exotic practices in both London and Toronto as both an RVT and Practice Manager. She has since moved to Newbury and couldn’t be happier! She shares her home life with several creatures including; dogs, cats, reptiles, fish, chickens, goats and occasionally wildlife who find themselves in need of a temporary helping hand. When not working she enjoys photography, mountain biking, snowshoeing, hiking and anything having to do with the outdoors.

    Celine Desnoyers
    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Celine spent most of her formative years growing up in Northern Ontario and has been working in the veterinary profession since the age of 15. In 2013, she graduated from the University of Guelph with a B.Sc. in Biomedical Science. Celine then returned to the world of academia graduating as an RVT from Northern College in the spring of 2017. When she’s not busy caring for patients at our hospital, Celine can be found going for long walks with her canine companions or spending time at home with her kitties Ghost and Cheddar. 

  • Hailey Lunn
    Hailey Lunn
    Veterinary Assistant

    Since she was a young child, Hailey knew she wanted a career that involved working with animals. During the summer of 2016 she volunteered at a large animal rescue in Dutton in addition to caring for animals at several hobby farms. In the fall of 2017, Hailey joined our team working as a Veterinary Assistant and is a truly valued member at our hospital. Her plans are to resume her studies to become an RVT. She presently shares her life with her dog Zeus, three cats; Fluff, Munchkin and Wolfie and Snowflake the hamster. During her free time Hailey truly enjoys fostering kittens, spending time outdoors and enjoying the company of her family and friends. 

  • Heidi
    Heidi Flavien
    Veterinary Office Administrator

    Heidi has been working at West Lorne Animal Hospital since the beginning of 2019, and she knows it's where she's meant to be. She has always had a genuine love for ALL animals, ESPECIALLY chickens! She says they are feather covered baby raptors. Heidi's chickens names are; Charming, Kessel, Ace, Perch, Nessie, Mamma Mere, Tim Bit, Swiss, Mozza + 18 more who are patiently awaiting to be named. Heidi has a cat named Nala, who is a beautiful long haired princess. Heidi has been married for 2 years to her best friend Michael who is originally from the island of St. Lucia. Heidi loves Jesus, swimming in the ocean, playing soccer, and eating avocados. Heidi does NOT like potatoes.

    Agnes Docherty
    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Agnes has been involved in animal care for a number of years through helping out on her grandparents' farm, volunteering at a wildlife rehabilitation center, and working in veterinary clinics. Growing up, there was never anything else she wanted to do. She has always had a love for animals and even as a young child knew it was her dream to help them. Agnes graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Ridgetown College in May, 2019 and became a fully registered technician shortly after. Now, Agnes is the proud mama of a sassy cat that she rescued as a kitten, and a sweet little beagle who also graduated from Ridgetown College. In her spare time, she loves reading, spending time with family, and playing video games with her husband.

    Abigail Lewinsky
    Veterinary Office Administrator/ Veterinary Assistant

    Since she was a child, Abigail knew that she was destined to have a career working with animals. Growing up, she always had a pet in the house or in the barn. Whether they have fur, scales, or feathers- she loves them all the same. In May of 2019, Abigail graduated from the Ridgetown College Veterinary Office Administration program, later getting certified as a Veterinary Assistant. In her time at the clinic, the West Lorne Animal Hospital has proven to be a family atmosphere, and she knows it’s where she’s meant to be. She currently shares her home with her bunny Caramel, her dog Paisley, her feathered friend Bella, along with two leopard geckos-Lindi and Gieco. In her spare time, she enjoys going for nature walks with her camera, helping out on the farm, and spending time with her family and friends

  • Lidia
    Lidia Bettencourt
    Veterinary Office Administrator/Veterinary Assistant

    Lidia has always had a love for animals since she was young. Growing up her favorite thing to do was go to her uncle’s farm and help him care for all his cattle, chickens, and goats. In May of 2022, she graduated from Ridgetown College Veterinary Office Administration Program, then became certified as a Veterinary Assistant. Shortly after she started at the West Lorne Animal hospital and has not looked back. Lidia is also the lucky owner of Ila, her cat, and Chinny, her bunny. In her spare time, Lidia enjoys listening to music and spending time with her family, friends, and fur babies.
